"Gendarme was created by a gentleman with allergies who couldn't find a fragrance he could wear, so he made his own using natural ingredients. The story goes that as he was giving it to his friends to try, he was told it was an "arresting" scent, hence the name Gendarme." (We have also heard that it's a favorite of LL Cool J and Tracy Morgan. -Ed.)
