I own about a dozen DE razors; the typical mix of Merkurs, Edwin Jaggers, and Muhles. For me and my beard extremely fine, though dense and fast-growing this razor is by far the best. It is an outstanding balance of closeness and comfort. I find that, with the head too tightly screwed into the handle, the shave is not quite close enough. By just gently attaching the head, the shave is ideal. My only two minor complaints are that a. the gap between the razor and bar is rather narrow and prone to clogging and, b. I can only speak for myself, but an appeal to DE shaving is tht it is inherently archaic. This razor looks and feels thoroughly 21st century. Its gunmetal finish and modern styling make it look very modern. This does not appeal to me. Apart from that, it is the best performing razor I own using feather razors.Rather dear to be certain but, as with so many things in life, you get what you pay for. |
