There are several harvests (a.k.a. flushes) of tea leaf each year. "Ban-cha" is a traditional, daily-use, Japanese green tea variety that is made from mature leaves, plucked in the summer or autumn, while "Mat-cha" and "Sen-cha" are varieties made from young, tender leaves, plucked in the spring. Organic Bancha is strong tea with a somewhat sweet and astringent taste. Tea leaf is cultivated throughout Asia and each estate produces tea with its own unique characteristics. We also offer green tea products from China (Golden Green Tea(tm)) and from Darjeeling, India (Organic Green Tea with Ginger).
