A timeless fougere. Bracken Man is a slow explosion of vibrant aromatics, underscored by an enigmatic, elegant energy: akin to fireworks against a velvety sky, Bracken Man is bracing yet surprisingly soothing.
Lemon is a compact, shimmering cube of floral energy beside to bergamot’s effusive, zingy overflow: these citric elements trace different patterns in the sky and establish the balance of opposites, which rules Bracken Man.
Cypress shoots into the air, a blue blaze of cool that sears the sky and turns it momentarily green. Lavender complements and mitigates cypress’ singe: lavender’s tones are not hot, but its lush, powdery texture is a balm, turning the sky back to a natural shade of nighttime navy.
As lavender’s frosty, pretty comfort dissipates into nothing, we wonder if the show is over...but not for long. The sparkle and pop of nutmeg begins to spurt from the firing line, until nutmeg is airborne in small starts and jumps, a playful woodsy spice offset by columnal, upward bound streaks of mahogany clove.
Geranium shoots clear past both these spices, a floral, pinwheeling entity of greens and pinks that arches over clouds, in its ebullient path ever higher. Geranium is an infusion of sunny positivity, and it quickly attracts cinnamon and cedarwood.
Together these elements build up a cloud in their aftermath, of piquant, crimson density that festoons the sky in patches. Sandalwood and patchouli are alternately soft and searing bedfellows, patchouli exploding at peak with sandalwood trailing behind like a velveteen tail.
Musk is the soft grey smoke that seeps from the blown containers on earth, a gentle subsidiary. This fougere is brilliant and refreshing. One sniff will invigorate and inspire you to shoot like a firework and brave the highest of heights.
