In 1807, Sir Andrew Pears perfected the soap making process to create the iconic pure and transparent Pears soap in the fashionable district of Soho, London using a method he described as a “curious chemical process by which soap is separated from all the impure and noxious substances.” Even after 200 years, each bar of Pears soap is still finished by hand and checked by eye.
