About Dovo:

DOVO Steelware was founded in 1906. At the beginning, DOVO was purely a factory producing open razors, with a forge and hollow grinding shop. The founders, Mr. Dorp and Mr. Voos, started with only 13 employees. Today the company has grown to produce daily 1,200 scissors, 900 nippers and 150 open razors and shavers. Their fine-crafted steel products are available in over 120 countries around the world.

Quality shave I bought this razor to check out Dovos after seeing how they were made on the TV program quotHow Itx27s Madequot It is a tad heavier than my Case Bros or an older Sheffield but still handles well The steel they use hones nicely to an edge that easily passes the socalled x27hanging hair testx27 Since I rotate four razors I only need to hone about every six months the Dovo holds its edge as well or better than my other razors A point of order for a neophyte is that stropping is best done with either a rigid strop or using a flexible strop held tight enough so that when you lightly hone the strop is not x27deformedx27 since stropping on a curved strop tends to round the edge and making it less sharp
