About Poppy Rouge Eau de Parfum:

In Mississippi John Hurt's ''Richland Woman Blues'' a loose married woman prepares for a night on the town in her ''rosy red garters, bright poppy rouge, & turkey red bloomer.'' Feminine, and light bodied, this citric-floral-musk fragrance is remarkably for it’s uptempo, yet grounded demeanor.

Petitgrain sur fleur conveys the excitement of a night out, while cumin translates the effect that pulse-quickening promise has on a body. Aldehydes are a shimmering interlude, an injection of energy that preserves the as-yet unsullied night air. Parma violet is as sweet as its is piquant, not unlike the complicated object of these blues, a potential heartbreaker in search of real love--or satisfaction. Jonquil adds a plaintive, shrill tone to this composition, the yowl of a dog under the rising moon as this Richland woman makes her way into town. Her triumphant arrival is marked by a rise in temperatures; orange blossom is the tallow-candle glow that lights the dim interior of a local juice joint, immortelle the scratchy-soft texture of a crooner who gives locals a reason to move their feet.

Richland woman raises her skirts and joins the dancers, a crowd of humans who smell of fresh sweat, vanilla and musk. This scent is daring, a straightforward yet sensual expression of finding- and exercising- freedom. Invigorating yet alluring, it negates the need for any additional gussying or accoutrement; dressed in Poppy Rouge, you may shed more than inhibitions.

(petitgrain sur fleur, cumin, aldehydes, parma violet, jonquil, orange blossom, immortelle, velvet musk, vanilla)
