In the 1920’s Paris, the celebrated cabarets were filled with French Cancan dancers who performed with as much precision onstage as they did backstage, in their beauty and scent rituals. Legend has it, that wherever the dancer wanted to be kissed, they daubed a tantalizing drop of scent. Hauto invites us closer, an alluring, flirtatious adornment.
Bergamot sparkles gently at the outset of Hauto, a glimpse of unstockinged flesh just below the hem of a ruffled skirt. Pineapple is luminous, a sweet, warm spotlight that magnifies bergamot’s slip of skin, a golden, glowing start to this seductive, raucous good time. To mark the proverbial start of music, tuberose mimics the beginning of skirt rustling, it’s low wild, endless waves of scent are methodically unfurled and slowly flashed, revealing the sweeter, more nude florals beneath.
Rose is fresh, glowing rendition of bare skin. A touch of spice recreates the small portion of body that stays hidden in this elaborate peep show, a piquant effect that softens the floral intensity of Hauto. The musks that ground Hauto are tangy yet dulcet, a base that’s powdery but is still substantial.
Hauto is glamorous, insouciant and romantic that reveals itself with sumptuous, saucy fervor on skin.
