Bergamot is a bright spark at the top of this scent, like a twist of lime slowly sinking down into the sepia sugar fathoms of five fingers of rum. As the citrus creates a stark contrast from within the spirit, a plummy sweetness is born, and all the ripe, purple-hued gush of plum rushes forth on each waft of this scent. Slowly, a bitter, more weathered underside to this energetic fruity effect emerges. Leather is soft (perhaps soothed by the intoxicatingly suave liquid it embellishes) but it is also undeniably strong and slightly bitter. Amber heightens this contrast, adding a saline dimension which keeps this rum refreshing and us thirsty for more.
