Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’s Sandalo fragrance has a warm, persistent, woody oriental scent. It is inspired by sandalwood, one of the most ancient and mystical fragrances. Sandalwood is native to India. It was used to build Hindu temples and furniture for ceremonial robes and bridal trousseaus. Thin strips can be burned as a room fragrance. It is one of the trees in the legendary Buddhist paradise; it is said its wood was used for the wheels of the sun wagon. The precious essence is obtained by distillation. It summons peaceful and serene sensations and relieves tension, predisposing for awareness of self.
