Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella's Violetta fragrance is a sweet floral bouquet with a soft vanilla base, middle notes of the vetiver flower and accented with violet notes. In mythology Proserpina was gathering violets when she was kidnapped by Pluto. The Greeks and Romans decorated their tables with violets to protect themselves from inebriation. Every perfumer held the secret to his own nuance of violet fragrance. It was very fashionable in the 1800s and was a favorite of the Archduchess Marie Louise of Austria.
