In 1892, Dresdner entrepreneur Karl August Lingner introduced Odol mouthwash, one of the first times essential oils were marketed for medical and antiseptic use. By the end of the 1930s, Odol was being produced in more than twenty countries and under the roof of GlaxoSmithKline, Odol has become the largest oral hygiene brand in Germany.
