Abdul Qaiyum (pictured, left) is a pharmacist who purchased Merz Apothecary in 1972, one month before the store was set to close forever. After its founding in 1875, the store was owned by generations of the Merz family until Abdul became the owner. He transformed the store from a community pharmacy into an iconic destination for well being and self-care. Today, Abdul acts as co-owner and chairman of Merz Apothecary & Smallflower.com and has passed daily responsibilities to his son Anthony (pictured, right), our current president. Abdul still helps curate our large assortment of products and is available to our staff as a great source of knowledge on all things natural health and wellness.
