Tam Dao Eau de Toilette
A Mythic Sandalwood
Memories of the East, specifically of the precious, sacred scent of sandalwood in the heat of an Asian jungle. Tam Dao is initially hazy, like sun filtering through an early morning mist beneath a dense, verdant canopy. There is something definitively pixilated about the beginning of this scent, as if we are smelling each note, molecule by minute molecule. Within a few moments, this gauzy texture resolves into a creamier, translucent sensation that reverberates all around us, like the damp, dense heat of the jungle. Sandalwood is indisputably at the fore of this composition, punctuated by rosewood, cypress, and ambergris, each of which highlight and amplify its multi-dimensional allure. Initially fresh and lactic, sandalwood grows more compact, dense and dark in odour as it imitates the close-grained structure of fragrant rosewood. Cypress introduces a pliant, almost aromatic levity which contrasts sweetly with rosewood's sturdy impression. Sandalwood rises to meet cypress' airborne gaze but tethered to the earthly intensity of rosewood, it floats somewhere in between the two, ultimately captured in the in the crystalline structure of saline ambergris. his is a sandalwood of mythic proportions, unfolding its manifold charms carefully so that its true power is never entirely revealed. A bewitching aphrodisiac, Tam Dao is a revelation. (sandalwood, rosewood, cypress, ambergris)
