Roses On Wet Sand

Spritzers aboard the famous Salt Spray Rose. Sinatra’s summer wind, dunegrass in the distance, rosehip, the white lighthouse. This scent isn’t just a rose. It has the ocean, delicate petals, the green stem, the waxy leaves, and the fresh idyllic powder of summertime. It is an everyday perfume.

It’s hot but the sea breeze brings in cool salted air by the late afternoon. The cloudless sky looks east over the Atlantic. Seagulls hang high over cutters, Sloops, and Scoonahs (real spelling Schooner). The borders of the beachhead are covered in bushes of single petaled rosa rugosa. The musk rose. So fresh and purple fruity in the summer sun. By late summer the rose hips are bright tomato red. They are sour and filled with seeds. They hang heavy over the shiny deep green leaves. Honeysuckle, black raspberry, and other vines intertwine amongst the dune grass.

The best perfume!

"I had never really heard of D.S. & Durga until an article I saw online, so I got a sampler set of 3 perfumes to try and Rose Atlantic was the star of the show. Such an unusual scent. When I spray it on my wrists and neck, I feel like I'm on a beach in New York, and there's roses in the distance. Rose Atlantic is fresh, floral, just beautiful. There's definitely a salty note mixed with roses, and you just get the effect of being on the ocean or the beach. Sillage is decent, longevity is about 5 or 6 hours for me. I can still smell it a little longer if I spray and walk through it and it settles on my clothes. I'm loathe to spend so much on a perfume, but I personally cannot find anything comparable, and I'm happy to spend this much on something this unique. I highly recommend this! Don't be afraid of an under the radar brand. This is an incredibly well developed and blended scent. The bottle is quite modern and in line with that of Byredo."

Amazing!

"Rose Atlantic is a beautiful scent. To me, it smells like a mix of sea salt and rose and almost a bit like apple though that isn't a note in this perfume, so it just must be the rose with the linden blossom and lemon oil. It's not your standard rose fragrance. I don't like a lot of rose perfumes because they're so heady and sharp. This smells like fresh blooming roses on a vacation. It's so lovely and clean and light and pretty. The longevity isn't the best. It does fade. But I love it so much and I can't find anything comparable so that's what pushed me to take the plunge and buy it. I think it's so beautiful and unusual, and it works wonders in the Spring and Summer. I feel like it's a light enough scent that I can wear every day without bothering anyone. It really smells like being by the beach mixed with roses. It's so refreshing and brisk. Everyone who has smelled this on me loved it and appreciated the lightness. I highly recommend it. Plus, the bottle is really chic and minimal."
