Skeem Design discovered this vessel shape in Japan and while they weren’t certain what it was for, we knew it was perfect for them. The original was tiny and clear so they made it large enough to hold 4" matches and updated it in this sophisticated color palette. Each piece is hand blown and fitted with a cork stopper in the bottom. Reminiscent of a vintage glass cloche, originally used to protect emerging seedlings in gardens this piece elevates a once simple match. Once the matches are gone, it can be a curiosity used to display a found specimen. Each hand blown cloche holds 120 matchsticks and has strike-on-bottle flint. Measuring 7” high x 3“ wide it is dramatic enough to make a statement while fitting anywhere in your decor.
