An Herbal Respiratory Aid
Speedwell (Veronica chamaedrys) also known as Wall Speedwell, or Germander Speedwell, is a perennial herb native to Europe and parts of Asia. It is often found growing in woodlands, hedgerows, and rocky hillsides, thriving in well-drained soils. This low-growing plant typically reaches 6 to 12 inches in height and is characterized by its bright blue, cone-shaped flowers that bloom from spring to early summer.
Speedwell is a member of the Plantain family, with a long history of traditional use. It is commonly used to support the respiratory system, promote digestion, and may help ease occasional coughs, colds, and mild fevers. Dried Speedwell has a mild, pleasant taste and can be brewed into a soothing tea or used in tinctures.
Pour one cup of boiling water over one heaping teaspoon of herbs. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes. Strain and drink.
