In 1899, chemist Dr. Carl Soldan opened a medicinal drugstore in Nuremberg, Germany where he developed the first recipes for cough drops combining eucalyptus and menthol. Em-eukal cough drops are still being made today in accordance with the well-proven original recipe of the company's founder.
