Myrrh weaves its curling richness through a loosely wound garland of fragrant laurel. Mandarin and bergamot are bright spikes of light, little stars emanating from this herbaceous crown of green that uplift this round, verdant scent. Just as these two fruits imitate the searing light of the sun glinting off the Tyrrhenian sea, they illuminate the intricate the underlying, coral-like network of fragrant life. Patchouli is a brilliant, luminescent element, that is sweet, smoky, and refreshing all at once. Cedarwood is as smoky as patchouli but decidedly drier, its terse, sap-scented profile registering as a blurry pink glow. Precious woods are mysterious, dynamic dark accents that illustrate the hidden nooks and crannies of this coelenterate. Sage and moss bubble upwards, little pops of fragrant air that are surprisingly earthy. White musk performs like sea water in this setting, surrounding and sculpting this sea skeleton.
