Coriander recalls the hills above Odessa. Androgynous and light bodied, Coriander diffuses a green, cooly spiced energy. Sparkling traces of the black sea settle over this inland garden, magnifying the dynamic scents of these leaves and petals. Russian coriander is a hearty weed, immediately recognizable by its aldehydic-soapy sparkle. Pepper reiterates coriander's shimmer, but this duplicate affect is acheived through the capsicum's subtle fire. Juniper needle is a fresh, crunchy spine of bittersweet fragrance. Geranium (with its searing, floral acidity) mimics the light, bright blue skies that reign over this coastal city, in cold or heat. Clove stem shifts this luminous scent to darker terrain, its molasses spice creating an earthy basis in which brighter notes take root. Clary sage is a warm, fuzzy sensation that's slightly lactic; this herb's creamy consistency is continuously addressed by the satiny elegance of magnolia and the animalic milkiness of musk. Mace, the finishing touch in this fragrance, enlivens this base just as it begins to soften, keeping the finish of Coriander as vivid and alive as it was at top.
