"I usually use loose cakes of shaving soap in a ceramic bowl, but I was about to embark on an overland trip across southern Africa, so I wanted something that I could seal up and throw in a bag. So I pretty much at random picked Pre de Provence simply because it comes in a can with a screw on lid. I was not disappointed. It whips up a really nice, thick lather without much effort and provides a smooth shave. I would say this is easily the best shaving soap for less than $20 I have tried yet. One last note for people who enjoy or avoid strong fragrances, the official description of "subtle fragrances" is spot on. You could almost pass this off as fragrance free."
