It is one of the most ancient and popular herbs used by countless civilizations around the world from Egypt, Rome and Greece to Europe, North America and Asia. Its minty flavor, delightful fragrance and many uses have secured its place in the herbal pantheon for many years to come.
Peppermint contains many beneficial vitamins and minerals including magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, iron, niacin, potassium, sodium, selenium, riboflavin, thiamine, niacin, Vitamins A and C, and protein. The aromatic volatile oils in Peppermint give it its characteristic fragrance and minty flavor, and are no doubt the reason it became such a ubiquitous herb. Pour one cup of boiling water over one heaping teaspoon of herbs. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes. Strain and drink.
